January Editorial

Welcome to 2014, and a new year of The Big Click. We are chockful of features this time around. First off we have the professional fiction debut of Francis Setnocis. You’ll never view home cooking the same way again. We also have a crime story by fantasist Paul Jessup, as part of our program to plunder the best writers in the science fiction/fantasy genre for noir.

We’re also trying something new: the “Mother-in-Law Review Corner.” Our capsule reviews this time come from Monica Flint, the real-life mother-in-law of our editorial consultant Nick Mamatas. Who says nepotism never gets you anywhere? You want a chance at impressing her? Send us your new books!
Speaking of getting anywhere, we have a new essay about forgotten writer Frank McAuliffe by M.V. Moorhead.
We hope the New Year finds you (reasonably) happy and (not too un-)healthy, and please come back for our second anniversary issue in March 2014!
